Legal work on your case can affect you for the rest of your life but can be expensive, so Delta will work with you on payment plans to make sure you can complete your legal plan. Delta strives to keep the fees and costs as low as possible because we are committed to helping you complete your plan. The fees below are subject to change.
Family Matters
The charge for most attorney work is by the hour. The rate is $250.00 an hour for general work but sometimes there are flat fees and sometimes a combination of both.
Debt Matters
Often times a debt matter can best be resolved by filing a bankruptcy case. The fees for those are below. However, sometimes a plan may involve negotiation with creditors or defense in court of a lawsuit or simply avoiding any action at all. The charge for most attorney work is by the hour. Bankruptcy
The charge for a Chapter 7 Bankruptcy is $1,500.00 + the filing fee ($338 as of 1/1/2021) and costs (approximately $50.00 for a credit report and certificates required by the court).
The charge for a Chapter 13 Bankruptcy is $1,500.00 to $5,000 up front + the filing fee ($313 as of 1/1/2021) and costs (approximately $50.00 for a credit report and certificates required by the court).
About Up-Front Payments
An Up-Front payment is a lump sum payment in advance before work on your case begins. You may be required to provide one in your case and additional payments later on. Delta will work with you to try to ensure you can afford whatever payment is needed.
On Fees and Costs
This list of fees and costs on this website is for basic cases with no bells and whistles (i.e., no variations from ordinary case types). However, some cases go beyond the scope of work established at the start of the case or require additional effort. There may be unanticipated events that require additional work. The client will be responsible for these additional fees and costs. At Delta, we do our best to estimate the scope of work up front so as to avoid nasty surprises on the invoice. Also, our flat fees and hourly rate change from time to time. We will notify you if this happens and give you time to account for these changes.
